Bowness on Windermere

Bowness on Windermere is located approximately half way along the banks of Lake Windermere and is a popular resort offering lots of recreation on the lake like water sports and sailing. There are also many boat tours available. There are many large hotels overlooking the lale, which date back to the 19th century when rich businessmen built large and grand mansions.

Bowness on Windermere is one of the busiest resorts in the Lake District and offers many restaurants, shops and a host of attractions such as ‘the world of Beatrix Potter' and the steamboat museum. The town was made famous by Wordsworth.
