Cockermouth

Cockermouth is an historic market town located at eh north west of the Lake District National park allowing easy access to the Lake District area. This old town has lots of history. Cockermouth became very popular with drinkers as when the drinking laws were restricted the pubs in Cockermouth were allowed to be open all day on market days.

The main street is Cockermouth is tree lined showing the old character of this charming town with the market place restored. The old railway is now host to a cycle way that will offer great views over Cockermouth via a large bridge.

During the annual town festival you will be permitted to enter the semi ruined Norman Castle with its preserved dungeons. The town offers lots of activities for the more active and is set in a picturesque and rural surroundings with easy access to the Lake District
