HawksheadHawkshead is an ancient settlement dating back to Norse times, and popular with monks. The village does not permit cars due to its tiny lanes and archways leading around the village to the numerous teashops, gift shops and public houses. Hawkshead also host the Beatrix Potter Gallery which is a 17th century building which is now owned by the national trust. There is also a 17th century Church of St Michael and al Angels looks over the village and the surrounding scenes. There is also a ferry from Windermere allowing access to this village. The surrounding area is picturesque and set in this stunning part of the world there are many walks available.
